Dr. Warren LoPresti was born in San Francisco and attended schools in San Mateo. While enrolled at San Mateo Junior College His education was interrupted to serve with the United States Navy in 1945. Following his tour of duty, Warren enrolled at UC Berkeley and received a BS, and MS and a degree in Optometry. He entered private practice in San Francisco in 1951 and retired in 1999. During that time he served as an optometric consultant for the Military Sea Transport Service at Fort Mason. From 1971 to 1983 he was also a clinical instructor and assistant clinical professor at the UC School of Optometry in Berkeley.

Warren enjoyed a busy and rewarding optometric practice, gathering many friends who respected his attentive medical abilities. Some patients travelled back from other states to receive his care. Although he had many long days at his office, he still found time to devote to helping others. He would carry equipment for vision exams to nursing homes for anyone who could not get to the office or pay for an office visit. He spent several years providing weekly assistance to a retired WWII veteran, and also volunteered for Little Brothers, Friends of the Elderly. Dr. LoPresti has long been a supporter and member of multiple groups and charities that provide assistance to others both here and abroad, as well as environmental groups. Warren was the embodiment of the life well-lived. He was curious and adventurous, and approached life as a continuous learning experience. He was an avid tennis player, skier and runner. His favorite outdoor activities were camping and hiking. His hikes took him from backpacking the high country to hiking the rolling hills of Tuscany. As an accomplished photographer he chronicled numerous trips around the world, always interested in life styles of people he met. Warren touched many lives and will be greatly missed and remembered by his long-time partner, Daniella Siroskey, long-time friends , Irene Siroskey, John and Cindy Moore, Bob Byrd, Conny and Gil Briones, and Sharman Graber. He maintained continuous contact with his long-time optometric friends as well.

We are especially grateful to Daisy and staff at Cypress Golden Gate for their outstanding care and compassion, and Veronica of Care for Seniors for all her attention and devoted care. We also wish to thank Sutter Health Hospice for their dedicated care and support.

Warren LoPresti’s interment will be at Olivet cemetery at the site of his parents in the military area. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Warren I.
