A third generation San Franciscan, the first child of Shirley and Robert Macpherson, Doug passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Novato at the age of 56. A graduate of Terra Linda High School and an Eagle Scout, Doug received his Bachelor’s Degree from San Francisco State University in 1987. Doug was a Claims Adjuster and Claims Manager for CSAA and later, a Claims Administrator with Genworth Financial. Doug married his high school sweetheart, Jolene, in 1986 and has one son, Brandon. Doug always engaged life with enthusiasm. He was a volunteer and former secretary of the Marin Power Squadron, an avid Nascar fan, and never missed an opportunity to watch the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Doug was passionate and meticulous in everything that he did and was devoted to his family, his friends, his community, his church and his dog. His passion extended to his love of Lake Tahoe and the time he was able to spend there with family each year. Doug was predeceased by his youngest brother Andrew in 1987. He is survived by his parents, his wife, son and granddaughter, his brothers, Donald and Gordon (Pam), his aunt, Sister Moira Macpherson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate his life on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 1100 Las Gallinas Avenue, San Rafael.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Assisted by Monte’s Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
