Three-bedroom co-op in Russian Hill’s Royal Tower

-

Johnson Nguyen of HOME Stagers, Inc. knew a light hand would work best at 1750 Taylor St., Unit 405, a Russian Hill co-op defined by its floor-to-ceiling windows and landmark views.

“The living room is a ‘wow,’ ” Nguyen said. “You’re in the corner of the building with spectacular views of landmarks like Coit Tower. It’s breathtaking.”

Looking for ways to bring warmth and personality, Nguyen refinished the parquet flooring and added textured walls to the three-bedroom home. To complement the cityscape, he borrowed paintings of the skyline from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Found in the Royal Tower, a 24-story midcentury building, the listing enjoys amenities like a 24-hour doorman, three parking spaces, a heated outdoor pool and shared terraces. There’s also a Pilates studio, a conference room and a dog run.

The residence occupies half of a floor in the high-rise building and features outlooks on its northern, eastern and southern sides. The living room faces north, offering unobstructed views of Alcatraz, Angel Island and the bay. Both the dining room and kitchen look eastward, framing views of downtown San Francisco and the Financial District. Meanwhile, both the family room and a guest bedroom lead to a southern balcony overlooking Ina Coolbrith Park.

A two-sided gas fireplace warms the living and dining rooms, and the living room is served by a mirrored wet bar.

Dual ovens, stone counters and an induction cooktop outfit an eat-in kitchen finished with a built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator. Parquet flooring lines a hallway leading to the family room, providing contrast to the tile floor found in the living room, dining room and kitchen.

An enticing bedroom suite hosts four closets and its bathroom includes a pair of closets and separate vanity areas. A bench waits within the walk-in shower and ceiling speakers set the ambience in the bedroom.

“It’s a very zen space,” Nguyen said of the owner’s suite. “The idea was to make it like a retreat away from city lights. A place where you could close blinds and get a good night’s rest.”
