George Paul Chan, Jr.

George passed away peacefully at his home on October 27, 2018 at the age of 86 with family by his side. George was born on November 16, 1931 in San Francisco, CA. Beloved husband of Junie Yee Chan for 66 years; father of Melinda Joy Chan and Craig Randall Chan; son of the late George P. Chan, Sr. and Margaret Lim Chan; brother of Pauline Rogers, Marjorie Cox, Francis Chan, and the late Virginia Kanistanau­x; cherished grandfathe­r of two and great-grandfathe­r of two.

George attended Commerce High School and graduated in 1950. George was an outstandin­g Electronic Engineer during his 52 year career at two major companies. He was also an outstandin­g profession­al musician who played piano. He formed his own combo called the “Blue Notes”. People loved his music and he had a loyal following. He also volunteere­d and performed for many charity fund raising events. George will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews as a great cook and for his love of giving parties. He was always generous and ready to help when needed.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Colma, Ca
