Bay Area opens up to outdoor dining.
In the past few weeks, the Bay Area has been emerging from a roughly threemonth quarantine. Businesses have slowly been reopening, including many restaurants that were either forced to shutter or pivot to takeout or deliveryonly when shelter in place went into effect in March.
Napa County allowed restaurants to reopen for indoor and outdoor dining on May 20, with Solano following on May 21. Sonoma County opened for outdoor dining on May 23 and indoor dining on June 6. Marin County opened for outdoor dining on June 1, Contra Costa and Santa Clara counties followed on June 5 and San Mateo County the next day.
San Francisco eased re
strictions on outdoor dining beginning June 12, and as of Friday, Alameda County restaurants were allowed to reopen their patios at a reduced capacity.
Here are some restaurants where diners can enjoy a meal al fresco again. Many restaurants have their own health and safety guidelines, limited hours and require reservations, so contact the restaurant ahead of time before heading out.
