Quakes draw in reopening

It wasn’t a win, but Earthquakes coach Matias Almeyda was pleased with his team’s first performance at the MLS is Back tournament on Friday night in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

“Ever since I came to this team Matias really put that in us that we had to do our best,” Vega said through an interpreter. Florian Valot scored in the opening minutes, and the New York Red Bulls beat Atlanta United 10 Saturday in the MLS is Back tournament.
