Thank you, Three Twins Ice

Cream, for creating a business that’s healthy for the planet, giving back to the community and sharing a quirky sense of humor along the way. Three Twins had a lot of marketing gimmicks, including a $3,333 sundae (that came with a cellist who would play whatever you wanted while eating). Neal Gotlieb built a massmarket business with three stores — in Larkspur, San Francisco and Berkeley — that employed dozens and filled grocery shelves with flavors that included mint confetti, dad's cardamom and land of milk and honey. The Chronicle’s Tara Duggan reported in April that the company would close because of financial problems related to the coronavirus. “While this is a heartbreaking end to a 15year (and two day) dream,” Gottlieb wrote on the Three Twins website, “I feel entirely lucky to have had this opportunity. Thank

you for sharing it with me.”
