Scoring leader Atlanta can’t hold off Cleveland

Collin Sexton scored 27 points, Andre Drummond had 12 points and 11 rebounds and the Cleveland Cavaliers wiped out a 15point deficit in the third quarter and beat the host Atlanta Hawks 9691 on Saturday.

JaVale McGee, who finished with 14 points, scooped in a runner to help the Cavs reclaim the lead at 8483, and Sexton made it a threepoint lead with a 17footer on the next possession.

Clint Capela had 16 points and 16 rebounds for the Hawks, who had 22 turnovers in the final three quarters but tied it at 88all on Bogdan Bogdanovic’s 3 before Sexton hit a 3 to put the Cavs up 9188 with 27.2 seconds remaining. John Collins missed an ensuing dunk attempt before Darius Garland hit a free throw and Sexton hit four foul shots to make it 9691 in the closing seconds.

The Hawks began the game leading the NBA in points per game ( 125.8) and free throws made per game ( 25.2), and ranking second in 3pointers made, secondchan­ce points

( 17) and rebounds ( 49.4) per game.

Pelicans 120, Raptors 116: Eric Bledsoe capped a 19point, 10assist performanc­e with a goahead 3pointer in the final minute, and New Orleans held on for a victory over visiting Toronto.

Brandon Ingram added 31 points, capped by four free throws in the last 13 seconds to seal the victory. Zion Williamson scored 21 points, highlighte­d by a pair of driving spin moves in the lane to set up lefthanded leaners off the glass.

Rockets 102, Kings 94: John Wall scored 28 points and host Houston beat Sacramento despite playing without an injured James Harden.

Harden, who sat out with a sprained right ankle, was not listed on the injury report and coach Stephen Silas did not mention his injury in his pregame availabili­ty. The team announced that he wouldn’t play about 40 minutes before the game was scheduled to begin.

Knicks 106, Pacers 102: Austin Rivers made the goahead 3pointer with 3: 23 left and finished with 15 points to help visiting New York rally past Indiana.

The Knicks have won three of four to pull to .500 after six games under new coach Tom Thibodeau. R. J. Barrett scored a teambest 25 points.

Malcolm Brogdon led the Pacers with 33 points but his shot was blocked with less than a minute to go, which led to another basket by Rivers during an 110 run that helped seal the win. Indiana has lost two of three.

Thunder 108, Magic 99: Darius Bazley had 19 points, George Hill scored 13 of his 18 points in the third quarter and Oklahoma City beat host Orlando to end a threegame losing streak.

Bazley converted a driving, lefthanded dunk with 4: 37 left to give the Thunder a 9991 lead, their largest of the night up to that point. Al Horford, who finished with 12 points and six rebounds, drilled a straighton 3pointer with 50 seconds to play, sending the Thunder on their way to the second road victory of the season.

76ers 127, Hornets 112: Joel Embiid had 19 points and 14 rebounds and Tobias Harris scored 24 points to lead Philadelph­ia to a win over visiting Charlotte.

Ben Simmons had 15 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists to help the Sixers beat the Hornets for the 12th straight time. Philadelph­ia has not lost to Charlotte since Nov. 2, 2016.

Terry Rozier scored 35 points for the Hornets.
