Tottenham’s Son reaches 2 milestones

-

Son Heungmin reached 100 career goals for Tottenham, which ended a fourgame winless run in the English Premier League on Saturday to move into a tie for third place.

Tottenham joined Leicester City and Everton at 29 points after Son, the South Korean national, scored and got an assist in a 30 victory over Leeds.

Harry Kane, who opened the scoring with a 29thminute penalty, assisted on Son’s goal with a clinical pass that took out two Leeds defenders.

That was the 13th time they had combined for a goal this season, equaling the EPL record by Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton ( 199495 for Blackburn) — and there’s still 22 games to go.

The EPL career record is 36 ( Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, Chelsea); Son and Kane stand at 32.

“We’re working hard and working on it for a long time,” said Son of his playing relationship with Kane. “Sometimes it is telepathic, sometimes we talk about it.” Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez set one another up for goals to help Real Madrid earn a 20 win over Celta Vigo as the defending champions edged one point above Atletico Madrid atop of the Spanish league.
