Sharks beaten by Ducks in shootout

Anaheim’s Max Comtois beat San Jose goaltender Devan Dubnyk in the shootout to give the Ducks a 21 win over the visiting Sharks on Saturday night.

Troy Terry also scored for the Ducks in the shootout. San Jose got a shootout goal from Ryan Donato, but Ducks goalie Ryan Miller then stopped Logan Couture and Kevin Labanc for the win.

Couture opened the scoring 11 seconds into the game. Anaheim’s Isac Lundestrom tied it nearly 6 minutes into the second period.

Dubnyk stopped 32 shots; Miller halted 26. Islanders 4, Penguins 3: Anders Lee scored on the power play late in the third as host New York snapped a five-game skid. Lee scored with 2:44 left after Pittsburgh’s Teddy Blueger was penalized for delay of game.

Maple Leafs 5, Canucks 1: Auston Matthews scored twice to extend his goal streak to seven games and Toronto beat visiting Vancouver. Wayne Simmonds scored twice for Toronto.

Coyotes 3, Blues 1: Jakob Chychrun scored twice and Clayton Keller added a powerplay goal, helping Arizona win in St. Louis. Keller rushed by Oskar Sundqvist and beat rookie Ville Husso through the goalie’s legs 10:44 into the second.

Canadiens 2, Senators 1: Jake Allen made 34 saves and Josh Anderson broke a tie early in the third period, leading Montreal to the road victory. Jeff Petry also scored as Montreal gave coach Claude Julien his 200th win with the franchise. Flames 6, Oilers 4: Mikael Backlund helped Calgary overcome a sluggish start with a goal and two assists in a win over visiting Edmonton.
