Virginia Josephine Soult
Virginia Josephine Soult, a longtime resident of Burlingame, California, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2021.
Virginia was born in 1922 to Josephine (Waters) and Virgil Strett of San Francisco, CA. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1940. In high school, Virginia was a representative on the executive council and enjoyed ice skating. She went on to study chemistry at San Francisco State University.
In 1942, she married Stanley Soult while he was on active duty at an Army Air Forces base in Texas. Virginia and Stanley were married for over 57 years and had one child, Steven Soult.
Virginia was a dedicated mom and an active participant in Steven’s activities. She earned a degree in Tourism at Canada College and enjoyed travel. She was an avid collector of teddy bears, Hummel figurines, and Shelley china. She also loved dancing, music, shopping, bridge, crossword puzzles, and sewing. Virginia liked to host parties at her home. She made everyone feel welcome and saw to it that they had a good time. She was a member of the San Mateo
Historical Society, the United Airlines Retirees, and the San Francisco Opera Association. She was also a patron of the San Francisco Symphony.
Virginia was predeceased by her parents and her husband Stanley. She is survived by her son Steven Soult, daughter-in-law Susanne, grandchildren Michelle Bourland, Katherine Sheehan, and Steven Soult, Jr., and two great grandchildren, Adrienne and Henry.
