Richard J. Tosetti, Retired Bechtel Executive, Passes Away -
It is with profound sorrow that the family of Richard (“Rich”) Tosetti announce his sudden passing on January 27, 2021 at Peninsula Hospital in San Mateo, California. A devoted husband and father, and loving brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and great uncle, Rich took great pride not only in his family but in his forty-four-year career with Bechtel Corp. from which he retired only a few years ago.
Upon receiving his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California – Berkley, Rich joined Bechtel where his nuclear engineering career spanned both international and national assignments and projects on both the Corporate level as well as within Bechtel’s multiple joint venture companies including Manager of Engineering for Savannah River Site, Deputy General Manager at Bechtel Jacobs, and General Manager at Bechtel SAIC. Richard photographed stunning landscapes when he traveled. Always learning, he read history and biography extensively. Always creating, he was passionate about designing and building layouts for his impressive collection of model trains.
Rich is survived by his wife, Donna, daughter, Christina, brother, Paul, sister-in-law, Joan, and the many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Friends and colleagues garnered over a life well-lived and a career of challenges and achievements will miss him greatly, as well. His quality of knowledge and leadership skills were complimented by his compassion and empathy for others. For once you met Rich Tosetti, once you knew the man behind the title, it is easy to say you would never forget him.
