Alexandrina ‘‘Ina’’ Lang-Rodriguez died on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. She was 60 years old and died at her home in Baden Baden, Germany, surrounded by family and friends.

Ina was born on September 16th, 1960, in San Francisco, CA. She went to Corpus Christi Elementary School, followed by Immaculate Conception Academy (ICA) High School where she graduated in 1978. She then attended Saint Mary’s College in Moraga where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. While studying abroad to learn French in Montpellier, France, she met her future husband Michael. They then moved to Berlin, Germany, where she worked on a US army base. They later married and settled in Baden Baden, Germany, and started a family.

As a child, Ina danced in the children’s Ballet Folkorico sponsored by the Comite Mexicano Civico Patriotico which sparked her love for dance and pride in her Mexican heritage. She was involved in high school drama productions and was the vice president of her senior class at ICA. She was an avid roller skater and often in Golden Gate Park and Tiburon, CA.

Ina became involved in the family businesses, including running Pepito’s Mexican Restaurants and working Mexican Food Products, Inc., the family’s tortilla company. She brought a lot of energy to these businesses and contributed significantly to their success with her passion and ideas.

Ina was a bright star that illuminated everyone’s life around her. She had a true passion for life and lived every day to its fullest. She travelled the world and lived in numerous places throughout her life, including Nantucket and Liberty Streets in San Francisco, Sausalito, San Anselmo, France, and Germany. Her ability to make friends came easy to her so she always made wonderful friends wherever she went. She would find any excuse to go dancing and always insisted her friends go with her. Her passion for life extended to her family and friends where she would always be the first one to reach out to anyone in need, regardless of her personal circumstances. She touched countless lives in her short time here and leaves a large hole in our hearts with her passing.

Ina raised two beautiful daughters, Alicia (22) and Ariana (18), who have grown up to be

two incredible young women. They were the light of her life and she loved them more than anything else. Knowing the importance of education and linguistics, Ina taught her daughters how to speak Spanish and English. She also instilled in them a love of international travel.

Ina is survived by her mother, Rosa Maria Rodriguez Najar, brothers’ Adrian and German Rodriguez, daughters Alicia and Ariana Lang, niece Katie Rodriguez, nephews Jonathan, Michael, Alexander, and Ryan Rodriguez, her cousin Victor Aul, as well as many aunts, uncles, and extended family.

A celebration of her life will be held in San Francisco during the summer of 2021. Details will be posted on Facebook in the coming months and messages may be sent to Friendsofalexandrina@gmail.com.
