He grew up in the Sunset District where he developed a lifelong love of the Ocean, and where he learned to surf at Ocean Beach. Tom was a graduate of Poly High School. He spent many summers vacationing at Meeks Bay in Lake Tahoe. Tom and Cecilia enjoyed their numerous trips to Italy where they developed a love for the Italian people, the culture, and of course the food. In his later years, he enjoyed his time spent in their North Beach condo, a little slice of Italy in San Francisco.
