Max Cologna

Max Peter Cologna, age 88, passed away Sunday morning, June 20,2021. Max was born July 30, 1932 in Rock Springs Wyoming and was the eldest son of Max and Pierina Cologna. Max lived in Rock Springs and Reliance Wyoming before moving to Tyler Utah at the age of 10. Max attended High School in Ogden where he was a star athlete winning the state wrestling championship and receiving scholarships to wrestle and play football at Weber State College and later at Utah State where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. After college Max served in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey California, and served in the Army Reserves for over 10 years reaching the rank of Captain. Max fell in love with California and was living in San Francisco in 1957 when he met Jackie D’Andrea, fell in love and was married a year later on August 23rd 1958. Max and Jackie were happily married for over 60 years. In 1967 Max fulfilled a childhood dream of owning his own business by purchasing a retail liquor store in San Francisco. In 1959 Max and Jackie gave birth to the first of their 3 sons. Max and Jackie lived in Daly City until 1978 when they moved to San Mateo. They called San Mateo home for 37 years before relocating to Roseville, CA to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Max was a great husband, father, brother, businessman and above all else provided “Unconditional Friendship” Max is survived by his three sons, Paul, Tom and Matt, his five granddaughters, Jamie, Carly, Katie, Gianna and Sophia and his brothers Rudy and Dan and sister Rita. Max will be remembered with an abbreviated service at Union Brick by Wedgewood Weddings located at 240 Conference Center Drive, Roseville CA on Friday July 30, 2021 at 11am with a Celebration of Life to follow.
