Bridget “Dolores” Ernser passed away peacefully in Greenbrae, California, on June 23, 2021. Dolores was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Ernser. Dolores met Nicholas Ernser, the love of her life, in San Francisco, and married in 1953. The Ernsers lived in San Francisco until 1968, when they moved across the bay to Marin County. They split their time between Marin County and Lake Almanor, a place both dearly loved. She was the loving mother of devoted daughter Carolyn Ernser and son William Ernser and daughter-in-law Debi. Dolores leaves a void in the hearts of her granddaughters, Jessica Ernser (Brendon Kerkhoff), and Erin Ernser Carrillo (Jonathon). She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Corauba; brothers Walter Kelly (MaryAnn) and Tom Kelly (Carol), as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom gave her a great deal of pride and joy. She was predeceased by her late parents Bernard and Mary Kelly; sisters Mary and Ray Hudson, Susan, and Rex Kennedy; brother Bernard, and Diane Kelly. Dolores Ernser was a first generation “Irish American” and a native San

Franciscan. She attended St. Paul’s High School where she formed many lifelong friendships, including her longtime friends Katie O’Shea and Olga Scharninghausen. Dolores worked for the Teamsters and later, Congressman Phillip Burton. In addition to her family, she had a great love of music, dance, fashion, travel, sports, history, and spy books. She especially loved politics, about which she was always willing to share in depth conversations. Dolores touched all of our hearts and will be dearly missed.

Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 11AM at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City. A reception in her honor will follow at the United Irish Cultural Center, 2700 45th Avenue in San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations made in her name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research at https://www.michaeljfox.org or to St. Paul’s High School Alumnae Association at www.sphalumnae.org
