Connie Kane

-

A beloved mother, grandmother, partner, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and neighbor, Connie Kateri Kane lived in her treasured adopted hometown of San Francisco for nearly 50 years. Constance Kane was born in New York City on November 14, 1947, and died at home in San Francisco on August 2, 2021, after a six-week fight against an aggressive lung cancer.

Connie is survived by her six favorite people on earth: daughter Devi Zinzuvadia and son Andrew Zinzuvadia; dearest friend and partner Jayant Zinzuvadia; and enormously adored grandchildren Timmy Zinzuvadia, Charlie Zinzuvadia, and Rose Kateri Zinzuvadia. She is predeceased by her parents, Miriam Walsh Kane and Coleman Kane, Sr., and her siblings Sheila Kane, Coley Kane, and Stephen Kane. Connie leaves behind seven siblings – Ann Smith (Varley), Patty Kane Horrigan (Jeremiah), Kevin Kane (Mary), Tim Kane, Chris Kane (Vickie), Kelly Regan (James), and Susie Monroe (Mark) – her 20 cherished nieces and nephews and their families, and loved ones in India, the U.K., and around the U.S. Connie attended Barat College of the Sacred Heart in Lake Forest, IL, and Most Holy Rosary School in Syracuse, NY. Since her retirement as a payroll and benefits administrator, Connie’s primary role was as chief Grammy in charge of baking, painting, laughs, hugs, and fun. She loved visiting Half Moon Bay with her family, keeping abreast of current events and political news, writing the loveliest notes and poems, and cheering on the Giants, Warriors, and Niners. In earlier days, she was an involved volunteer with her children’s activities and athletics programs, as well as with their schools,

Convent & Stuart Hall and St. Ignatius Prep. A memorial celebration of Connie’s life will be held later this year, at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Children’s Enchantment Fund at the San Francisco Ballet.
