Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and resulting protocols in Hawaii, the Maui Invitational will relocate to Las Vegas' Michelob Ultra Arena.

Randy Bennett's St. Mary's Gaels are one of the eight teams in the tournament; the Gaels open play against Notre Dame on Nov. 22.

Golf: PGA Tour rookie Sahith Theegala began the back nine at Country Club of Jackson (Miss.) with three straight birdies, had an eagle chip spin 360 degrees around the cup and finished with a 5-under-par 67 to take a one-shot lead at 18-under 198 into the final round Sanderson Farms Championship.

They were two shots ahead of ANA Inspiration winner Patty Tavatanakit, who birdied No. 18 to cap off a bogey-free 65. Tennis: Cameron Norrie beat top-seeded Andrey Rublev of Russia 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the final of the inaugural San Diego Open. Norrie, the 26-year-old Briton who won his first ATP Tour title this year in Acapulco, will face second-seeded Casper Ruud of Norway. Ruud, ranked No. 10 in the world, beat No. 29 Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the other semifinal. Ons Jabeur and Garbiñe Muguruza advanced to the Chicago Fall Tennis Classic final when their semifinal opponents were unable to play. Jabeur led Elena Rybakina 6-4, 3-2 when Rybakina retired due to illness. Ninthranked Muguruza advanced without playing a point after Marketa Vondrousova withdrew because of a gastrointestinal illness.
