Audrey Eleanor Ellingsen

-

In loving memory of Audrey Eleanor Ellingsen. Audrey passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on September 10, 2021.

She was born to parents Martha & John Parker in Chicago, Illinois on Sept 14, 1932.

She loved spending time with family and friends. Always dressed to the nines, she was a woman of grace and style. In her early years her family moved west living in Southern California in the San Fernando Valley. She was one of the original “Valley Girls” attending North Hollywood High. Her Prom date was fellow classmate, Marty Milner, television star on programs, “Route 66” and “Adam 12”. After graduation she became a corporate secretary for Northrop Corporation before relocating to the Bay Area, moving to Greenbrae in the mid sixties where she resided in her beautiful home on the hill for the past 50+ years. She enjoyed entertaining, hosting dinner parties and attending events with friends. She took pride in sewing. She would make everything from dresses for her young daughter, Alicia, to fringed cocktail napkins which they still use at “cocktail hour” to this day. She loved her nightly Cosmo before dinner, her signature drink! As a cat lover, her nickname became “Momcat” early on.

She was a true Virgo.

Always organized with thoughtful birthday cards lined up on her dining table for upcoming birthdays months in advance. One of her friends reminded us of a funny comment between the two of them… “Audrey! It’s not even Thanksgiving and you’re already worrying about Christmas!” Always a planner and never wanting to miss anything, that’s for sure.

“Nana” adored her 3 granddaughters whom she referred to as “The Girlie Girls”, always wanting to stay in touch and know what was going on in everyone’s lives. She enjoyed traveling the world with her beloved husband, Ken, who was the true love of her life, together for 35 years.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Elllingsen, her daughter, Alicia Nelson, her son, Andrew Nichols, granddaughters, Juliette, Alexandra & Lauren Hvistendahl and her son in law, Travis Nelson.

She will be deeply missed by all.
