Ken Richards passed away in Hospice in Alamo, California. He is survived by his spouse, Sandy Wada who was at his side, and by his parents Donald and Harriett Richards; siblings Michael Richards (Christine); Kevan Wisniewski (John); Casey Richards (David); Connie Anthony (John) and many nephews and nieces. Ken was born in Bryn Mawr, PA and attended Haverford School, Haverford, PA; junior and senior high school at Edina East High School in Edina, MN. In high school, Ken was a great wide receiver for the Edina High School football team, loved to play ice hockey, and was the center of his social circle. Ken attended Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD and the University of Minnesota, then travelled around Europe. In 1984, Ken moved to California where he held a variety of jobs, played in a band, and learned about network technology on the job. He graduated from Antioch College with a degree in music. Ken managed computer systems for Triton Internatio­nal and travelled extensivel­y around the world. Then he managed the IT infrastruc­ture service contract for a chain of hospitals in CA, under Perot Systems, Dell, then NTT DATA.

Ken and Sandy were married in 2004 and lived in San Leandro, California. Ken enjoyed working on his beautiful garden, cooking, kayaking and exploring the world. He was loved by all who knew him. We will all miss Ken and wish him well on his new journey.

A memorial service in remembranc­e of Ken will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Arden Park, Edina MN, from 10 am until 12 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to UCSF Memory and Aging Clinic or to the Hospice East Bay.
