Kathleen Mary Doherty Delucchi

-

Mrs. Kathleen Mary Doherty Delucchi passed away at the age of 84, on January 5th, 2022.

She was born in Carndonagh, Ireland on July 20th, 1937; daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Doherty. In her early 20’s she left Ireland to begin a new life in San Francisco. In her early days in the City, she was a waitress. She eventually met the love of her life, Mario Delucchi and was soon married. Kathleen and Mario built a successful real estate business and began to travel the world. Not a summer went by without a trip to Ireland or Italy to visit their home towns and relatives. They also enjoyed taking cruises and stamping their passports all over the world. Kathleen loved her local community and was an active member of the Irish Cultural Center, Lady of Grace and the Liguri Nel Mondo. Kathleen was a devout Catholic who prayed daily.

Kathleen and Mario would eventually spend their time split between their homes in Greenbrae, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco, but Kathleen’s true love were the streets of the City. Even into her 80’s Kathleen would be seen strolling down Polk Street with her walker, petting every dog and introducing herself to strangers. She touched the hearts of many and will truly be missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Rosary at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City, on Monday, January 17th at 5:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Peter and Paul, 666 Filbert St., San Francisco, on Tuesday, January 18th at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Italian Cemetery, Colma.
