March 27, 2020 Stewart Allan Johnson, born in Pasadena, CA, passed away at home in Atherton with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, daughters, sonin-law, four grandchild­ren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and their family, and his sisters. He was devoted to his family, many friends, and business associates.

Allan earned both his undergradu­ate business degree and his MBA from UC Berkeley. He loved Cal. A man of intelligen­ce, integrity, good judgment, and keen wit, and with a strong sense of fairness to all, he started his career as a CPA and rose to CFO positions, co-founding, supporting, and making many critical contributi­ons for several start-up companies in the medical device and computer industries in

Silicon Valley. Additional­ly, he was a philanthro­pist, supporting many charities, and taking Board positions with The Thacher School in Ojai, CA where he attended high school, and his Alma Mater, UC Berkeley, among others, lending his expertise and goodwill to these places he loved. He was especially fond of The Chandler School in Pasadena and Eastside Preparator­y in East Palo Alto.

Allan enjoyed travel, and he most loved his visits to Lake Tahoe over his entire life. It was there that he enjoyed many family gathering, snow skiing, boating and waterskiin­g, reading on the beach, or entertaini­ng friends. His great sense of humor was evidenced by his pranks and telling jokes and stories of past escapades.

His family and friends miss him. 03/23/1926-06/16/2021 James Arthur Marshall, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the age of 95 years.

A native of Iowa, born to parents James Arthur Marshall, Sr. and Orpha Marshall, Jim’s family moved to San Francisco when he was a teenager. His family visited the City for a two-week vacation and never left. After attending Mission High School, Jim enlisted in the United States Army Air Force where he flew B-17’s and B-24’s in World War II.

After the War, Jim returned to San Francisco where he reunited and married Shirley and raised their family. He worked many jobs from working as a mechanic in his father’s garage, to working at a Chevron gas station, to selling plumbing parts and eventually retiring from the Presidio in 1993 as a HVAC technician. After his retirement he worked as a handyman and supported his family in every way possible.

Jim was an active member of the Freemasons. Jim served Mission Lodge No. 169 and served on the board of directors of the Hall Associatio­n. He received his Golden Veteran award in 1997 and was just short of receiving his Diamond Jubilee Award having been a member in good standing for nearly 74 years. He received the Hiram Award for his dedication to the fraternity and his community. Jim rarely missed a meeting at Mission Lodge.

Jim was a long time supporter of the Masonic Youth Groups. He was Chapter Dad for Mission Chapter DeMolay and Associate Bethel Guardian at both Bethel #198 Daly City and Bethel #107 San Francisco Order of Job’s Daughters. He received the Grand Master’s Youth Support Award in 2002 for his dedication to the Masonic Youth Groups.

Jim was also a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star, Golden Gate Chapter No. 1. Jim was initiated into California Chapter

No. 183 on March 3, 1948. He was a member for over 73 years and served as Worthy Patron: 1979, 1982, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1995, 2003 and 2004. He received their Service Award in 1998.

One of Jim’s favorite places was with his family camping in the mountains and on the banks of a river with a fishing pole in his hand. He also enjoyed his vacations in Hawaii with the love of his life, Shirley. In his later years, Jim enjoyed collecting and fixing antique clocks including cuckoo clocks and grandfathe­r clocks.

Jim is survived by his brother, Robert Marshall, beloved children Karen (Richard) Downing, Donna (Scott) Rankin, Jim (Carol) Marshall, Julie (James) Potts, 14 grandchild­ren, 16 great-grandchild­ren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Jim will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. Jim was predecease­d by his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley Marshall and his sister Norma Jeanne Thibodeaux.

The family would like to thank Colleen Sass for her loving care during the last years of his life, Dan Bishop of Right at Home in-home care, Dr. Alexander Levy, of Kaiser, for all his years of devoted care, and all of the doctors, nurses and support staff from Pacifica Nursing and Rehab Center for their care and support during Jim’s final days.
