John Paul Fenech

John Paul Fenech passed peacefully at his home in Sebastopol February 28, 2022. Born in San Francisco on October 4, 1943, he grew up “on the road” aka San Bruno Avenue.

After his tour with the U.S. Navy, John was employed at Hunter’s Point and Mare Island. He drove a cab in San Francisco, was a roadie for Santana at Woodstock, was a counselor at DACC and the Marin Aids Project. John was a proud member of NA for 36 years. The family thanks Patrick McDermott for his support. John is greatly missed.

He leaves behind his wife, Tuu and her family, his children Karen McCarney, Lisa Rocha (Ramon), Tim Fenech, their mother Judy Azzopardi, and his daughter Denise Foster. Grandfathe­r of Michael and Sean

McCarney, and Jack and Henry Foster. Brother of Georgette Reichardt. Uncle of Dorie Arietta (John), Steve Reichardt, John Michael Arietta, and Dr. Thomas Arietta.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held on April 9, 2022, from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm at the Cotati Veteran’s Memorial Building, 8505 Park Avenue, Cotati CA 94931.

At rest on March 9, 2022 at the age of 97 surrounded by his loving family. Dearly beloved husband of Evelyn Ferranti, James was the beloved father of James A. (Lauren Actkinson) Ferranti and David L. (Debbie) Ferranti. Cherished grandfathe­r to Brion J. Ferranti and David J. Ferranti, and proud great-grandfathe­r of eight. Adored son to the late James and Jenny Ferranti and loving brother to the late Rose Efsaif. James was born in Chicago, resided in Colorado, then the family moved to San Francisco, making

Potrero Hill his lifelong home. James proudly served in the U.S. Army under General Patton during the WWII campaign.

Private services and memorial will be held at a later date.
