Allan John Westermark

-

Allan, a fourth generation, lifelong son of his deeply loved San Francisco, passed away in peace while being comforted by those he cherished. His tired heart, lungs, and legs could no longer support the strong spirit that he held within.

After completing his education at Polytechnic High School and City College of San Francisco, Al went on to a lengthy career working for investment companies. His personal joy of golf and friendships cemented on the course were dear to Al’s heart. Always modest about his fine golf skills, and always patiently willing to mentor novices, he unselfishly imbued in others the fun to be found swinging a club!

The never wavering devotion shown to his parents Marie and John Westermark allowed them to live in their home until their passings. Predeceased by brother Robert and sister Joane, Allan is lovingly remembered by brothers George (Kimberly Hauschild) and Gary (Elaine Westermark). Allan took great delight in his nephews and nieces: Jim Davis, Karen Parker, Jennifer Davis, Kainoa Westermark, William Westermark, and Katarina Westermark.

Al was cherished by so many people for the beauty he spread within his sphere of family and friends and always to others further afield. At his core were sterling qualities of thoughtfulness, humility, generosity, humor, sweetness and, at times, feistiness! He was so easy to love. And he loved with such bounty in return. We who have shared Al’s life have been forever blessed.

After multiple pandemic delays Allan was interred at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery on May 7, 2022 in Colma.
