Norma McWilliams Liedtke
Norma McWilliams Liedtke died unexpectedly at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Visalia, CA, to Pattie Dwelle McWilliams and Joseph G. McWilliams, M.D., and raised in Providence and Barrington, R. I. In 1963 Norma moved to the San Francisco Bay area where she met and married her future husband, Charles Liedtke. She began a long career with PacBell and AT&T, working in administrative and supportive services positions. Family dedication, gardening, golfing and the excitement of travel created many areas of interest. In retirement, a great deal of her time and energy was devoted to special needs children and young adults, coupled with extensive volunteering at St. Elizabeth and SEA Episcopal Churches (in San Bruno) which included many activities and leadership roles.
Charles Liedtke, her husband, predeceased her, along with her parents and two siblings, Caroline McWilliams Douglas and Kelly Jo McWilliams Dvareckas. She is survived by her sister, Patti McWilliams, her son, John J.
Liedtke, and grandchildren John J. Liedtke, Jr, Katie Liedtke, and Robert Liedtke; stepsons Robert Liedtke (Liz) and Raymond Liedtke; nephews Casey Dvareckas and Sean Douglas (Rachel Bartov); niece Jill Dvareckas, coupled with numerous cousins, cherished family members, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at SEA Episcopal Church, 1600 Santa Lucia Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, on May 28, 2022 at 11 am. Masks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Samaritan House, 4031 Pacific Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94403, SEA Episcopal Church, San Bruno, CA, or a charity of your choice.
