San Francisco Chronicle - (Sunday)
Renee DellaPietra
Renee DellaPietra (maiden name Purtell) 2-19-1954 to 5-21-2022.
Renee was born in San Francisco and spent most of her life in Daly City, the Sunset District of San Francisco and the last 23 years in Pacifica.
She is survived by her son John, his wife Sally and daughter Bean – all residing in Hong Kong, her husband Chuck Anderson and his family Amy, Pete, Kenna & Andi Nestler and Barbara Anderson.
Renee worked as a loan broker specializing in construction financing in San Francisco and surrounding areas and had strong ties to the Irish community in the City.
Renee loved fishing, travel, antiques, wine and in her later years on-line shopping and bird watching on the deck. She had a variety of interests, was a bright lady and an enjoyable conversationalist. Renee was a great gal but had a lot of bad luck in her life. Her older son, Paul, became sick at age six and was never the same after that. Her first husband, Mark, passed in 1999 and that threw Renee into a state of depression as that put the full responsibility of the care for Paul onto to her and Chuck. Paul passed a year and a half later and that hurt Renee all the more.
She and Chuck had a loving relationship and a lot of wonderful times but Renee was plagued with health issues. She underwent many surgeries including a fusion of four vertebrae in her back and a heart by-pass. She also suffered from emphysema and melanoma.
Through it all she was a wonderful companion, always down-to-earth, had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
She will truly be greatly missed.
No services, other than family, are planned at this time.
