Alyce Geraldine Gilmore, at the age of 91 years, passed peacefully 2/23/23 at her home with her family by her side.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Alyce lived the past many years in Foster City. Mom attended St. Monica Grammar School, St. Rose Academy High School, St. Joseph College of Nursing - and offered nursing care and comfort to her patients throughout her years at St. Joseph’s Hospital, San Francisco County Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and the San Francisco State University Health Center.

Her husband, Wally Gilmore, passed in 2002 - and she is survived by her five children and their families: Michael (Sandi), Kevin (Robin), Greg, Christine Shreve, and Terry (Leilani), as well as nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mom also leaves her sister, Joan Allen of Washington state, and her sisters-in-law Jeanne Guddee and Ellen Guddee of Sacramento County - as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout.

Mom was active in her alumnae associations, and always looked forward to lunches with friends and family in her retirement. She was an enthusiastic recreational golfer and tennis player, and led our family throughout the years with her loving example and quick smile. Mom’s Catholic faith was a very important part of her life.

We especially express our love and appreciation to Mom’s caregivers Katie, Sally, Vicki, and several others who made it possible for mom to remain safely in her home - which was her forever wish. We thank them for their special gifts of medical attention, love, and support these past many years - also express special gratitude to ANX Home Healthcare and Hospice for their love and care.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in San Mateo on 3/10/23 at 11:00am. Internment following at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma, Ca. Donations in mom’s name would be appreciated to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, or the charity of your choice.
