Barbara Claire Pasini

May 23, 1927 - December 20, 2023

-

This marvelous soul who took on our distress as she finally succumbed to her own after 96 years.

Born Barbara Claire Garbarino on May 23, 1927, to John and Mary Garbarino in San Francisco, she became the beloved wife of the late Roy Pasini in 1949. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Joyce), Dan (Ann), John (Kim) and William (Michelle); grandchildren, Gina, Joseph, Jenni, Mia, Angelo and Mario; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert (Ruth); and many loving nieces and nephews.

She made friends for life to the end of her life.

Whether she met you on the playground like Pat, at church like Marge and Shirley or in high school like Larry and Zachy or at Standard Oil like Natalie (who only married in her 90s) or on Oakmont Drive like Dick and Muriel or on Westpark Drive like Eileen and Eugenia or at the nursing facility where she slept between Fe (Faith) and Gráinne (Grace), she cared about what mattered to you.

She and Roy were parishioners of St. Ignatius Church since its inception as a parish. At their Westlake home they would host generations of Jesuits to discuss the issues of the day late into the night. They would eventually welcome young couples there for pre-Canna sessions.

When we lost her on December 20, she merely joined all those she had loved and lost, leaving us to continue her love for those who remain in this world.

A vigil will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 5 p.m. at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul in North Beach, 666 Filbert Street, San Francisco, in the city she loved followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the U.C. Berkeley Foundation for the Roy Pasini Endowment (http://mikepasini. com/mem/index.htm) or St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco.
