2 years of prison for sex act outside bedroom window
A Half Moon Bay man nabbed pleasuring himself outside the steamy bedroom window of a married couple will serve two years in prison, prosecutors said.
Gilberto Mendoza Flores, 33, was caught peeking between the shutters of a Half Moon Bay home in May while a couple in their early 30s enjoyed a romantic moment at 5:40 a.m., said Steve Wagstaffe, San Mateo County district attorney.
The husband heard Flores at the window and saw him with his pants around his ankles, Wagstaffe said. Flores hitched up his trousers and ran as the couple dialed police.
Sheriff’s deputies soon found Flores and chased him over fences and through backyards, Wagstaffe said. He was eventually found lying on his stomach, trying to hide from police.
Flores pleaded no contest to charges of indecent exposure in October and was sentenced Wednesday to two years, eight months in state prison, plus $7,600 in restitution to one of the victims. Restitution to the other victim has yet to be determined. He must serve 80 percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
Flores had a previous conviction for indecent exposure, prosecutors said.
“State prison is the only place for a sex registrant who has demonstrated that his sexual deviancy controls his behavior,” Wagstaffe said. “Public safety calls for him being locked up for a couple of years.”
