Edward Michael Kelly

February 9, 1939 - September 25, 2014

-

A native San Franciscan and longtime resident of Daly City passed from this world on September 25, 2014 from complications related to a stroke. Ed was preceded in death recently by the love of his life Rina Kelly, his parents John & Bridget Kelly and sister Mary Kelly, Ed was a graduate of Riordan High School in San Francisco, served our country in the Navy and upon his return, graduated from San Francisco State with a degree in Business.

Ed was a large presence in our lives; quick with a joke, a gregarious laugh and a hand shake that you would not soon forget. He was a pioneer in the food industry as President of American Poultry. He then, with his sons started Kelly Gourmet Foods. Ed loved every aspect of the food industry and the people that were involved in it. Ed and Rina traveled extensively though out the world but favored cruising over all types of travel. Ed was an avid golfer and was a long time member of Lake Merced Golf Club, where you would find him most Friday nights in the corner of the Grill, holding court with many friends. Ed loved his grandchildren and was amazed by each one of them as they became young adults, but it was his 53 year love affair that he had with Rina that we will remember the most.

Ed is survived by his sons Patrick & Christopher, daughter in laws Susan and Lisa, his five grandchildren; Collin, Sean, Alessandra, Tyler and Micaela Kelly, his brother John and sister in law Nora Kelly and sister Anne and brother in law Jim Fatooh and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He is missed by all who loved him.

A private memorial will take place, November 2nd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center of San Francisco. www.prrcsf.org
