Lloyd Peter Mortensen

March 13, 1935 – October 13, 2014

Resident of Sunnyvale Lloyd Peter Mortensen, age 79, passed away at home on October 13, 2014. He was surrounded by his loving family: Jan, wife of 56 years; son Eric (and his wife Lynda, his sons Lars Mortensen and Anthony Rizzo); son Keith (and his wife Francis, his son Adam); and son Craig (and his fiancé Ben Hsu). Other family members include his sisterin-law Beverly Ann Rose; her son Richard Rose (and his wife Linda Marie, his son Raymond, his daughter Sydney); and her daughter Linda Westby-Gibson (and her husband Ernie, her daughter Sonia Lilani).

Lloyd was a member of Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church, a Retired U.S. Navy Commander, a former Emporium store manager (Stanford, Tanforan and Mountain View), and a graduate of San Francisco State University. He was a past member of Rotary International, Elks Club, Naval Reserve Association, Reserve Officers Association, and a board member of Summer Home Park Corporation and Summer Home Park Improvement Club. His passion was spending five months every year at their cabin in Summer Home Park on the Russian River with his wife, Jan. The family also enjoyed their visits throughout the year.

A Celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held at 1:00P.M on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church (728 W. Fremont Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94087, 408-739-1892). A reception will follow immediately afterwards in the church social hall.
