Stars’ Seguin sidelined

-

Dallas scoring leader Tyler Seguin will be sidelined at least three weeks because of a right knee injury suffered Friday night when he was checked below the waist, Stars officials said Saturday.

Seguin was helped off the ice after the third-period hit by Florida defenseman Dmitry Kulikov, who was ejected. Kulikov is suspended indefinitely pending a hearing with the league.

“It’s a play that I don’t like,” Dallas coach Lindy Ruff said. “It’s a dirty, low play that I don’t like. The league doesn’t like it, and I want to see the league deal with it.”

Seguin, a 2015 All-Star, is third in the NHL with 59 points and is tied for fourth in the league with 29 goals.

“He’s released the puck, and (Kulikov) comes across and takes his knee out,” Dallas’ Vernon Fiddler said. “It’s a gutless play on his part, and we’ll have to deal with that at a later time.”
