Harold “Hal” Arthur McCawley

August 23, 1930--January 24, 2015

Resident of Oceanside, CA—Born in Boynton, OK; to parents Floyd & Leona McCawley. He passed away from serious heart problems in Vista, CA.

Hal is survived by his wife, Harriet, whom he married on March 24, 1972. Surviving are 2 children from a prior marriage—Gregory McCawley & Debbie Cawdrey; grand children Brandy Croteau-Marzan, Shaunda Franklin & Samantha Romano; great grandchild­ren Riki Franklin, Amanda & Cole Croteau & Daxton Marzan. Hal’s surviving brother is Fred McCawley.

He graduated from Turlock HS. He served in the U.S. Army Counter Intelligen­ce in Germany from 1951 -1953. In 1953, he began a long successful career in commercial lending & management at Bank of America, becoming a Vice President at SF World HQ. His education includes: San Francisco State University (BA), Golden Gate University (MBA), and honors at Southern Methodist University’s Graduate School of Banking. Hal was a Jaycees state VP.

They retired to Oceanside, CA from Foster City, CA. Active in home owner’s boards & community clubs, they made many friends.

Hal’s avocation was genealogy -- researchin­g his & Harriet’s roots back to the 1700’s & across the Atlantic He shared his expertise of genealogy teaching classes in retirement.

Hal’s memorial service for family & friends was held on January 31st in Ocean Hills. He has been laid to rest in Broken Arrow, OK. With his passing, we have lost a true friend, loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and a great grandfathe­r.
