There’s ‘Much Ado’ about the Bard at this year’s Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
When the Oregon Shakespeare Festival takes to the stage for its 80th season, it will open with a rotation of the Bard’s “Much Ado About Nothing” and “Pericles, Prince of Tyre,” along with the classic musical “Guys and Dolls” and the premiere of “Fingersmith.” Plays later in the season include Shakespeare’s “Antony and Cleopatra” and Eugene O’Neill’s “Long Day’s Journey Into Night.” Beginning with the three Shakespeare plays, the company is celebrating its anniversary by presenting his complete works over the next decade.
Hopping up to Sacramento: Sacramento Beer Week kicks off with the Sacramento Brewers Showcase at the California Auto Museum and closes with the Capitol Beer Fest, expanding its space on Capitol Mall this year for 100plus breweries. The intricacies of filling out a family tree and researching census records and other resources will be demystified.
