Mets 10, Reds 2

CINCINNATI — Lucas Duda hit his first career grand slam for his third homer in two days and drove in four runs to bring his two-game RBI total to 10 as the New York Mets clinched the NL East title with a 10-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. The postseason berth is the Mets’ first 2006. Duda, right, sparked a warm-up celebration with his first swing. His grand slam in the first inning off left-hander John Lamb got thousands of blue-clad New York fans in Cincinnati chanting, “Let’s go Mets!” Duda had two three-run homers Friday night.

Jeurys Familia fanned Jay Bruce to end it, sending the Mets streaming into a huddle in front of the mound.

It was fitting that they got to celebrate in Cincinnati. New York is 25-15 all-time at Great American Ball Park, the best winning percentage by any NL team, including the Reds.
