James V. Gamez was born in Alameda. He was a graduate of Oakland High School, 1966 and Chico State University. James was an active alumni of Delta Sigma Pi – Profession­al Business Fraternity.He retired as a Director of Sales from Sunshine Biscuit Co. James had a huge love of steam trains and was a member of a local ‘train lovers club’. He decided to seek a second career involving what he loved, trains. He enjoyed a second retirement from Amtrak Railroad. James enjoyed travel and maintainin­g contacts with many friends he made around the world. He was a loving, spiritual charismati­c man. He is survived by siblings, Stephen Gamez, Jerry Gamez, Robert Gamez, Sandy Raymond, Maria Acebo and a huge family and many loving friends. Preceded in death by his loving mother Carmen Skipworth and brother Alfred Gamez. The Lord took you peacefully and we know you are now free. We love you and you will be forever in our hearts.
