A 51 year resident of San Francisco, died peacefully on February 3, 2016. The last words he heard were his family telling him that he was loved. A memorial service will be held at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church on February 20 at 9:00 a.m.

Ted was born June 12, 1928, in Great Bend, Kansas to Laura and Dr. Herbert W. Jury. His dad was the local doctor and Ted’s early days were spent assisting his dad in surgeries and delivering babies as they traveled the countrysid­e in horse and buggy. He was a proud Marine and Army Veteran and served during WW II and the Korean War. He married Marcy Brungardt, and they had three sons.

Ted graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelors and Masters in Biology. He was a Federal Parole Office in Denver, before moving to San Francisco to work for the City of San Francisco in the Superior Court for 35 years.

Ted was former Commandant of the Marine Corp League, Department of California (1985-1987) and Junior Past Commandant “Emeritus” of the Gen. J.C. Breckinrid­ge Detachment 010, SF. Ted was also an active member of the Huguenot Society, Kolping Society, St. Peter & Paul Benevolenc­e Society, Knights of Columbus and the Boy Scouts. He was also a die-heart SF Giants fan!

He is predecease­d by his parents, wife and sisters Bernadette, Marianne and Barbara. He leaves behind his sons Nate and John (Cathy), and his precious granddaugh­ter, Krissy, who he was so proud of. He also leaves behind his son Fred.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at UCSF who took amazing care of Ted.
