Cheers to biology at Geektoberfest
Geektoberfest is serving up biology with a chaser.
In its second year, Geektoberfest, at the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, aims to educate beer lovers about “the science behind the suds.” There will be tastings — in glass beakers that attendees can keep — featuring local and regional craft breweries as well as demonstrations and lectures by industry experts.
“It’s no coincidence that the most innovative region in the world is also producing the most delicious brews. The garage-born innovation that started Apple and HP is also propelling a generation of home brewers,” said event organizer Danny Haeg.
VIP tickets are also available for the Beer Lab, a pop-up bar at the museum’s rooftop patio. It includes a food pairing.
The 21-and-older event is in partnership with BioCurious, a nonprofit biology “hackerspace” in Sunnyvale.
