Kenneth H. Fast, age 87, died peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Cypress at Golden Gate Senior Living Facility in San Francisco, CA.

Ken graduated from Lafayette College, in Easton, PA, Summa Cum Laude at the top of his class in 1951 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in his junior year.

After graduating from Yale Law School in 1954, Ken entered the United States Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant, serving as an Assistant Judge Advocate for the Tactical Air Command at Langley Air Force Base until 1957, when he was released from active duty.

Ken then joined his family law firm, Fast and Fast, which had been founded by his father’s brother in 1914, where he specialize­d in real estate law and tenancy law. In 1986, Ken became a partner in Fox and Fox, and he retired in 2007. During his practice of law, Ken was appointed to and served on the Ethics Committee of Essex County.

Ken also served on the board of the Joseph and Yetta Weisberger Fund for the Aged, Poor and Needy, based in Livingston, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ, Ken grew up in Glen Ridge and Maplewood, NJ. He was married to his beloved wife Judith Nicholson on November 23, 1969. After they married, they moved in Short Hills, NJ until 2007, when he and Judith moved to San Francisco.

Surviving Ken are his beloved wife, Judith, children Jon Fast, Laine Fast, and Laine’s husband Ted Sandak, all of whom he loved dearly.
