Judith Deletti Eastwood, a long time Bay Area resident, died on the 17th of January at her home in San Francisco.

Born in 1947 in Milford, MA, she received her Bachelor of Arts from Boston State College, worked in social service at Westboro State Hospital, and continued her education, receiving her Masters in Social Work at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapol­is in 1973.

Judy worked in psychiatri­c social work at Riley Child Guidance Clinic, Indianapol­is, working with children and families. Later she work at San Francisco General and at Langley Porter Institute, UC San Francisco, and also as a therapist in private practice. She was deeply respected and highly esteemed by her co-workers and with those whom she served. She retired from public service in 2010 and until a year before her death continued in private practice.

Devoted not only to the field of mental health, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmothe­r. She also volunteere­d her time to gardening, both at home, in the local state park at Candlestic­k Point, and at her Church, St John the Evangelist of San Francisco. She was, more recently, a member of the Audubon Society in Massachuse­tts.

She was a loving and supportive friend to those who shared her interests in sewing, making quilts, swimming at the aquatics classes, and the varied interests of her family members.

She is survived by her husband John (Jack), her son Adam, his wife Amy and grandsons Jack and Andrew who live in Massachuse­tts; her daughter Jessica, and her husband Karim, who live in San Francisco, her sister MaryAnn, brother Dave, and her many nieces and nephews.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Episcopal Church of St. John the Evangelist, San Francisco, and The Family Link, a non-profit guest house for families of the gravely ill, 317 Castro Street, San Francisco, 94114.

A service in her memory will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 21, at the Episcopal Church of St John the Evangelist, 1661 15th Street, San Francisco.
