PATIO DINING

-

Cafe Lucia. Chef Manuel Azevedo and co-owner Lucia Azevedo are a brother and sister who were born in Healdsburg to a father who emigrated from Portugal to work as a dairyman and a mother who made her own bread and cheese weekly. Soulfulness imbues their cuisine in dishes such as blood sausage, Portuguese pot roast and cod cakes dolloped with cilantro aioli. Their palm-lined patio is the perfect place to enjoy it all. Must order: Port-braised pork belly. 235 Healdsburg Ave., (707) 4311113, www.cafelucia.net.

Campo Fina. Alfresco dining doesn’t get more pleasant than here. Take a seat on the large canopied patio (with heaters) to enjoy some antipasto before trying your skills at a game of bocce. Must order: wood-fired pizza Salsiccia topped with house-made sausage, tomato, mozzarella and King oyster mushrooms. 330 Healdsburg Ave., (707) 395-4640, www.campofina.com.

Spoonbar. There isn’t a conventional patio here. But this airy restaurant has nearly floor-to-ceiling windows all around, and on balmy nights, the accordion glass doors completely slide away, leaving the entire front of the restaurant open to the sidewalk. Must order: smoked octopus with warm potato salad. 219 Healdsburg Ave., (707) 433-7222, www.spoonbar.com.

The Wurst. There’s just something about hot dogs that begs for them to be devoured outdoors. It’s easy to do here at one of the many tables on the front patio. Take your pick from more than a dozen hot dogs and sausages, as well as burgers and salads. Must order: Green Bay Brat with caramelized onions, barbecue sauce, bacon, cheddar and butter pickles. 22 Matheson St., (707) 395-0214, www.wurstrestaurant.com.
