Chef Duel, Round Six Watch local chefs compete in a “Chopped”-style throw-down from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 6, at Folktale Winery, 8940 Carmel Valley Road. Chefs create a dish from mystery ingredient box containing one protein and four other ingredient­s. Hosted by Chef Todd Fisher, winners are chosen by combined votes of guests and guest judges. Pebble Beach Food and Wine This year’s 10th extravagan­t anniversar­y lineup includes 100 celebrity chefs and 250 participat­ing wineries, offering scores of tastings, seminars, mixers, cooking demos, pop-ups, lavish meals and, of course, golf. Carmel Art Festival Plein Air artists will be scattered throughout the Monterey Peninsula, beginning May 18, creating competitio­n entries for the Carmel Art Festival. This four-day celebratio­n celebrates its 24th year with free admission, including entry to dozens of local galleries and Sculpture in the Park. The highly competitiv­e Plein Air competitio­n will be judged May 20, and artworks will be offered via silent auction, public auction and for sale at various venues. Proceeds benefit school art programs. All official festival events will be held on Mission Street between Ocean Avenue and Sixth, and Devendorf Park, in Carmel.
