think, “He’s not my husband,” and they support him anyway.

Griffin’s voice broke into an honest — and unexpected, she said — sob as she pleaded for unity and support for a list of California politicians that started with Sen. Dianne Feinstein and ended with California Secretary of State Alex Padilla.

“Don’t let a Republican in there,” she said. Feminists are “too divided. But you guys got it together . ... This crazy administration hasn’t pissed you guys off yet. But he doesn’t know what he’s in for.”

P.S. State Sen. Scott Wiener was in the crowd, but didn’t speak. Mark, oh Mark Leno, stalwart of such events but now termed out of the Legislature: Where was a proclamation?

At the Castro Theatre for opening night of the CAAMFest 35 film, music and food festival, Assemblyman David Chiu complained about Asians as portrayed in major films, reports Greg Chew. “The Great Wall,” a monster movie set in China, stars Matt Damon; “Ghost in the Shell,” a science fiction anime movie, stars Scarlett Johansson.

Chiu said if there was anyone in the audience who wanted to make a film about a handsome Asian American who became a successful politician, he’d be happy to be its central figure, played by actor Daniel Dae Kim.

That actor, co-narrator of “Finding Kukan,” was at the festival, too. As a presenter at a Sunday morning awards ceremony, Kim noted that the Asian American community is not as old as some, but is an integral part of the fabric of America. Stories from ancient times are often told, he said, but it is time to tell stories of the past of this community.

P.S. Kelly Hu, the other narrator of “Finding Kukan,” had dinner after the movie’s showing on Saturday, March 11, at the Utopia Cafe on Waverly Place in Chinatown. It’s a home-style Cantonese restaurant that doesn’t look like stomping grounds for a glamorous movie star and for Robin Lung, director of the movie. But dinner host Doug

Ho, executive producer of the film, is cousin to Ken Ho, who owns the Utopia (which insiders say is very good).
