A native of Ballinamuc­k, Co. Longford, Ireland.

Born on August 15, 1927 and given the name Mary in honor of the Assumption of Mary. Preceded in death by her brothers, Paddy, Tom, Bernard and James Ward and sisters, Kathleen (Sr. Joan, CSJP) and Alice Aird

Survived by her loving husband Eugene (Gene) of 54 years, children, Michael, Anne Marie (Mike), Mark, Patricia and her husband Terry, grandchild­ren, Enzo and Aedan Bardoul

Also survived by her sister Bridgie McNerney, Co.Longford, Ireland. Sisterin-law Margaret McCarthy and the Lads in Pacifica, Ca. Special Brother-in-law Bert Aird of San Francisco, Ca. As well as many nieces and nephews in Longford, Antrim and Dublin, Ireland.

When Mary first came to San Francisco she worked for Wells Fargo Bank and then Fireman’s Fund. She was an amazing wife, mother and ‘granny’. She will be remembered for her unconditio­nal love of family, her emotional intelligen­ce and genuine caring for everyone who entered her life. She was a devout Catholic and a gracious host who loved to entertain family and friends. She was the best mom ever, a class act and an absolute gem. Long time resident of San Francisco and St. Anne’s parishione­r. Subsequent­ly of Cotati, Ca. and St. Joseph’s parish.

Family and friends are invited to to attend the funeral mass, Thursday, March 30th at 12:00pm at St. Rafael Mission in San Rafael. Entombment following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Petaluma. Reception to follow at the family home in Cotati. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n (ALZ.org).
