Lisa Louise Dyer, M.D.

April 27, 1958 - March 25, 2017

Distinguished Burlingame OB/GYN Dr. Lisa Dyer died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She fought a courageous six-year battle with cancer.

Lisa was born April 27, 1958 in Berkeley, CA. She graduated from Palos Verdes High School, earned a BS in Physiology from UC Davis, and a Master’s in Public Health and Doctor of Medicine degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Dyer delivered thousands of babies and cared for countless women over her 25 years in the Burlingame community, including service on the Mills Peninsula Hospital Board.

Lisa cherished her children, husband, extended family and friends above all. She was an extraordinary mother—to her own children and myriad others. No one lit up a room more than Lisa. She lived with a depth of kindness and hospitality beyond measure.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband Jeff Yoder, their four children Christian, Dalton, Caroline and Joshua; mother Mary (Kitty) Dyer; sister Jan Dyer; uncle Joseph Duffel; aunt Jan Christensen; and dozens of loving family members. She is preceded in death by her father George Dyer. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Crosby-N. Gray & Co. Funeral Home, 2 Park Road, Burlingame. Lisa’s life will be celebrated at a service beginning promptly at 4 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Mercy Center Chapel in Burlingame followed by a reception beginning at 5 pm at the Kohl Mansion, also at Mercy Center in Burlingame. Friends are respectfully invited to attend any or all of these gatherings. Dress for a spring Celebration of Life.
