Ex-Wall Street lawyer now works for laughs
Chances are good you’ve laughed at a few hundred Paul Mecurio jokes and you don’t even know it. The comedian has written for “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.”
The Georgetown Law graduate also has a popular podcast, “2 Chairs and a Microphone,” where he’s interviewed an eclectic group including Paul McCartney, Bill Burr, Neil deGrasse Tyson and wrestler “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
But he’s coming to the Punch Line for three days of his own stand-up comedy. Mecurio, a father, Hollywood writer and onetime Wall Street lawyer, has an amiable manner and jokes on a wide range of topics — bantering comfortably about family, sex, politics and pop culture. Expect to laugh at a little bit of each.
