Jennifer passed away after a courageous five year battle with Multiple Myeloma. The strength and continued zest for life that she displayed throughout her battle with cancer was an inspiration to everyone. A California native, Jennifer was a graduate of Mercy High School (Red Bluff), California State University at Chico and the California Culinary Academy. She worked in the food and beverage industry, first as a member of Local 2 then as a chef. Later, she was employed as a sales representative for BiRite Foodservice and Market Smart. She was an enthusiastic reader, an avid lover and collector of art as well as a terrific cook and food connoisseur. Jennifer also liked to travel with her devoted and loving husband of sixteen years, James (Jim) Latham. They visited Ireland, Mexico, Hawaii and various cities and states throughout continental America. She was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants, the 49ers and the Golden State Warriors. She also enjoyed attending the Kentucky Derby when she was younger and truly loved watching her daughter Isabella (Izzy) Borges play basketball, from CYO all the way through high school at Convent of the Sacred Heart.

Jennifer was first married to George Borges, father of Isabella. They lived in San Francisco and enjoyed traveling to Europe, dining out, socializing with friends and attending all manner of sporting events. Then, on June 28, 2001 she married Jim, a 1985 graduate of Saint Ignatius College Preparatory. That served as her introduction to his extended Latham family and they embraced, loved and supported Jennifer until the very end. They likewise welcomed Isabella, whom Jennifer loved so dearly. She did everything imaginable to be the best mother possible, from making all of Izzy’s Halloween costumes to educating her about art and food, all the while encouraging Izzy to be confident and kind hearted. Her honesty with Izzy about her cancer served both of them very well these past five years as Jennifer bravely struggled with her condition. Jennifer was deeply proud of the person her twenty-one year old daughter has become. She realized her parenting efforts had resulted in a wonderful, loving, thoughtful young woman and counted that among her greatest blessings. Similarly, the togetherness that existed between Jennifer, Jim, George and Isabella, as shown by celebrating the holidays and major life events with each other was a blessing to each of them. Another blessing for Jennifer and her loved ones was the incredible skill, devotion, caring and support she received from the entire staff at UCSF. The compassionate treatment she received will never be forgotten by the family and friends of Jennifer.

Jennifer is survived by her husband Jim, her daughter Isabella McGlynn Borges and George Borges. She is also survived by her parents, Thomas and Deborah McGlynn, brother Matthew (Barbie), sisters Suzanne Dale (Mike) and Sarah Skirry (Justin), nieces Abigail, Margaret, Cate, nephews Thomas, Sam and Charlie, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many members of the Latham and Borges families.

Jennifer had a heart of gold and will never be forgotten by all that knew her.
