Sally Celia Garcia

-

Sally Celia Garcia passed away on March 14, 2017 at the age of 85.

Sally was born on July 25, 1931, in Santa Fe, NM, where she also met and married her husband of 66 years, Eloy J. Garcia. Together, they moved to San Francisco in 1953 where they raised their 5 children: Eloy Jr., Gladys, Lawrence, Leonard, and Cristella.

For over 15 years, Sally worked at St. Luke’s Hospital as an Admitting Clerk and Interpreter, and really enjoyed the medical profession. She also took joy in spending time with her family playing cards, board games, and really loved bingo. She was always up for a bus trip to Reno for a little gambling, as well. Aside from card and board games, she cherished her collection of turquoise jewelry and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. Ask any of her family or friends and they will also tell you that she made the best flour tortillas; second-to-none.

We have all been blessed to have her in our lives and her passing will absolutely leave a void, but she will always be remembered. She leaves behind her husband, Eloy, four children, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Heights Hospital in Daly City for the kindness and love they showed Sally in her final years.

A memorial mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, located at 1086 Guerrero Street in San Francisco, on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made out to St. James Catholic Church.
