SATURDAY

Conversati­on on land use: A discussion on how local communitie­s can “make the best decisions to meet regional and local needs” on land use and housing. Town hall: Hosted by Rep. Mike Thompson, D-Santa Rosa, at 3 p.m. at City Hall, 525 Henrietta St. in Martinez. ACLU event: The League of Women Voters hosts a discussion with Jay Laefer of the American Civil Liberties Union on “safeguardi­ng the rights of our entire community.” The event is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Woodside Road United Methodist Church, 2000 Woodside Road, Redwood City. resistance: A new event series hosted by The Chronicle is called “Chronicle Chats.” This event, “The Future of the Left: Can the Trump Resistance Grow Beyond Protest,” will be moderated by columnist David Talbot and will feature a senior adviser to the Bernie Sanders campaign and other experts and leaders. Anti-Trump show: The Museum of Internatio­nal Propaganda is hosting a pop-up art and poetry show called “Against Trumpism: The Art & Poetry of Resistance.” Bay Area and national artists and poets will present their work from April 20 to 29. Environmen­t discussion: Marin County Supervisor Kate Sears will discuss the recent findings of the BayWAVE Project, a study on sea levels and rising tides from Sausalito to Novato. Sears will discuss Marin’s vulnerabil­ity and list next steps for how to deal with future issues that could be impacted by rising sea levels.
