-

Graham DeLaet eagled the par-4 ninth hole and shot a 4-under-par 67 on Friday for a share of the second-round lead with Luke Donald at the PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Donald also had a 67 to match DeLaet at 10-under 132, two shots ahead of Ian Poulter and Webb Simpson.

DeLaet plodded through the first part of his round Friday until he dropped his approach on the 461-yard eighth hole within 15 feet and made the putt. On the next hole, DeLaet sent a wedge from 109 yards out into the green, the shot hopping into the cup.

“We couldn’t see the bottom of the pin, but there was reaction from the crowd so we figured it was in,” DeLaet said.

Donald chipped in on No. 18 to catch DeLaet.
